For his outstanding work as Chief of Staff, HQ Regional Command South in Afghanistan and to recognize his extraordinary efforts in the collaboration between the Canadian and Dutch armed forces, Colonel Michale Dewey Kampman was decorated with both the Commemorative Medal and the Medal of Merit on Friday June 6, 2008. Colonel Kampman received these Dutch honours during a special gathering at the residence of Ambassador of the Netherlands Karel de Beer.
