Karel de Beer handed over his duties to the new ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Canada today. The new ambassador is Wim Geerts, who will actually officially be ambassador after the Governor General of Canada accepts his credentials on September 15th. Ambassador Geerts is married and has two children and will live in the Dutch residence in Rockcliffe (Ottawa). Departing ambassador de Beer and arriving ambassador Geerts signing the papers.
