Synopsis
In 1988, Camiel – a timid, homosexual dental student – is run over by a jeep. Behind the wheel is Simon – a coarse Amsterdam hash dealer, the archetype of the heterosexual male. Simon takes Camiel to the emergency room and an unusual, lifelong friendship begins. At first, Camiel is somewhat intimidated by Simon’s rough appearance, behaviour and language. Simon’s circle of friends confirms his initial impressions. Camiel soon finds out, however, that underneath his harsh exterior, Simon is a friendly and hospitable fellow with an extraordinary lust for life and a great – albeit not always politically correct – sense of humour.
