War crimes suspect arrestedThe Netherlands welcomes the arrest of Zdravko Tolimir, one of six most wanted suspects of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY).
He was detained in Bosnia-Herzegovina on 31 May by Republika Srpska police, in a joint operation with the Serb authorities. Tolimir was indicted by ICTY for his involvement, as a general in the Bosnian Serb army, in the ethnic cleansing of the Srebrenica and Zepa enclaves.
Tolimir was transferred to ICTY in The Hague on 1 June. The Netherlands is still calling for the immediate arrest of the remaining fugitives, in particular Ratko Mladic and Radovan Karadzic.
