The Netherlands to give emergency aid to flood victims in Bolivia25 Feb 2024 | Development minister Bert Koenders has decided to give Bolivia emergency aid amounting to 750,000 euros. The money will be used to assist the 300,000 Bolivians affected by flooding earlier this month.
The flooding was especially severe in low-lying areas. The Dutch aid will be used to meet the most urgent needs: food, water, shelter, and sanitation.
Koenders’ decision is a response to a request from the United Nations. The money will be spent, in consultation with the Bolivian government, by the International Organisation for Migration and the humanitarian organisation Care.
