Afghanistan and the Netherlands sign cultural partnership agreement
On 12 July, the governments of the Netherlands and Afghanistan signed an agreement on cultural cooperation.

Yvonne Stassen, chargé d’affaires ad interim at the Kabul Embassy, signed for the Netherlands, while the Minister of Information and Culture and the Minister of Urban Development signed for the Afghan government.

The agreement underpins the various cultural activities in which the Netherlands is involved, such as the restoration of the National Museum in Kabul and of the old bazaar in Tashqurghan. After signing the agreement, Ms Stassen underscored the importance of continued cooperation with the Afghan government in protecting the country’s cultural heritage.
